We have not featured a Mulberry bag in a long time. We were in love with the Mabel and look what we have now! Seems like Mulberry is not leaving out the Hobo fans. I really think the Mabel hobo is gorgeous despite its simple design. Glad to know that despite its commercial success, Mulberry still managed to keep most of its bags’ classic beauty rather than “It” and trendy. This baby is still made in England and retails at USD825 at Bloomingdale’s. What a steal!

Joy Gryson at MCM continues surprising us with beautiful bags which are not typically what we remember of the brand. Look at this beautiful dainty shoulder bag that could have been passed off as Chanel or Lanvin but it is MCM and it is young and classy, very Manhattan upper-east-siders’ material. The leather is snake-embossed calf which explains the good price at USD880. I need to tag this bag as HOT! Well done!

I am speechless. This might be the most expensive and prettiest bag I am not sure whether I want even if were to be given to me free. Somehow it looks… painful? Exclusive to net-a-porter at GBP3,777.56. Ouch!

Miu Miu used to be the darling of the fashion world. It was young, edgy, unique, fresh and lady-like but then it started getting expensive and normal and suddenly nothing special anymore like its latest celebrity endorser (Mrs Cruise). It is nice to see that Miuccia Prada is spending a little more time on this brand again rather than on projects I barely understand (the Transformer???). At least for this bag, I could see the intricate weaving work on the leather, forming a unique texture on the body of the bag. The design is simple which also means classic and versatile yet the size fits enough to be a city bag. At GBP683.87 for a large woven leather bag, I started to remember how I had fallen in love with Miu Miu to begin with.

This might be the best value-for-money and versatile bag from Gucci Resort 2010 I have seen so far. Love the simple design and beautiful color (also comes in white). The size is good too at around 35cm x 15cm x 40cm, big enough to fit those work-to-play stuff as a daily bag. Pre-order from Gucci for USD1,590.

Is Givenchy the new YSL or what? The bags are almost all so perfect, simple and classic, nothing could go wrong style-wise. Givenchy has lately been cool without even looking trying. This Sac is all about the shiny soft leather and its simple shape with only the 4 Gs Givenchy crest. Available at Barneys for USD1,975.

I have to admit that Gucci’s crocodile skins, together with Hermes’ are among the best in the world. When you have the perfect skin and perfect coloring and treatment to the piece of leather, the bag design is best left as simple as possible. This is like THE bag of the Gucci Resort 2010 bag collection despite its mundane design and styling. What could beat the perfect and even scales? The damage? Only USD29,900. The tote is also available in white leather at only a small fraction of the price (USD1,390). They are the same, you say?
