Kate Bosworth with Loewe Ame

Loewe bags have started garnering Hollywood celebrity fans. Seen here carried by Kate Bosworth is the lovely and low-key Loewe Ame, the younger convertible cousin of the iconic Amazona of the house. The Ame is available is the incredibly soft refined calf (one of Loewe’s signature leather), calfhair, snakeskin and croc.

Mulberry Alexa Satchel Oversize

The Alexa satchel is a vintage-inspired bag design. I am digging the bag as a messenger and the size is pretty big too at 42cmx32cmx22cm. The bag is made in the UK, fully in Buffalo leather and knowing Mulberry, the bag is worth the price tag of EUR833.33 inclusive of shipping to most countries in the world. My only reservation is the closure mechanism which is perfect as a messenger but too much hassle when toted. Love the blue and gold color combo on this bag! Available for pre-order now for delivery after 31st March 2010.

Givenchy Pepe Sac in Red

Made of wrinkled lambskin, the Givenchy Pepe Sac in this hot red should be your staple for the Spring / Summer 2010. The bag is understated and striking at the same time. Givenchy is the master in achieving this effect of a bag on the crowd – just like a Santa passing by, everyone else will have to stare. This hot baby is available in Barneys for USD1,300.

It is the Christmas eve! Here’s the Purseholic team, wishing you all a Merry Christmas!

Jessica Simpson with Valentino 360

Forget about her music career or TV show, I don’t even know why Jessica Simpson is still a celeb now but she surely has a good taste (and the money) for bags. Seen here in a few occassions, Jessica is toting the IT Valentino 360 bag in silver sequin. This bag will set you back about USD4,000.

Jil Sander Large Tote

There is nothing incredibly unique about this bag but that is where the beauty of it or any other Jil Sander product, for that matter lies. The only thing extraordinary about this tote is its huge size at 21″x11″x6.5″. I also love the pebbled leather that is scratch-resistant yet softly slouches when carried. This camel color as the background to the minimal gold hardwares is somehow easily identified with the brand’s simple and natural look. Beauty lies in minimalism indeed. Available at Barneys for USD1,295.

Balenciaga Giant City

I regard my Balenciaga work as my best purchase ever. It is like a perfect bag for me and the Autumn 2009 is a perfect perfect color too. Dee’s infatuation with the Giant City is very high now after seeing my Work and I am all behind it (except for the financing part). I think the current red shade (Pomegranate) is beautiful and easier to pull off compared to the upcoming Spring/Summer 2010 Sang (blood red) will be. Available in UK for GBP1.065.

Dior New Lock Bag

The last few bags from Dior (Le 30, Granville and Dior 61) were somewhat succesful but never actually reached an IT bag status. The newest bag offered by the house now is the New Lock, which is a beautiful shoulder bag about the size of the original Fendi Baguette.  I personally think this bag has a potential to be big, has loved it since I first saw it. The only thing about Dior bag is that the price point starts pretty high, which is good for status but not really to hit a critical mass. Nevertheless, I think this is the new bag to be seen with. Time to unload those unnecessary stuff off your big sac and limit yourself to this comfy shoulder bag. The New Lock has most attributes of a classic bag so I really believe it is worth investing in. Price starts from EUR1,000.
