Gucci Men Fall/Winter 2010

Gucci presented its men Fall/Winter 2010 collection in Milan on the 18th January 2010. The collection is heavily influenced by the house’s vintage archive. I am not exactly swept away by what I have seen so far but I am just happy to see that the famous unisex hobo bag is back! Honestly I have been waiting for it (and I know it will come back) ever since they relaunched the New Jackie last year. There is also a bag which resembles the famous Birkin bag from Hermes from the front. There are some good potentials in this collection. Hopefully they end up better in the stores 10 months from now.

Burberry Floral New Check Bowler

Burberry’s latest attempt to excite and feminize its black check is not bad. The floral print might not be that obvious and striking but it adds some character to the canvas. This Bowler is priced at GBP595, which is quite reasonable for the size and style.

Burberry Baby Alligator Tote

What a beautiful bag! Although I have to admit that the word ‘Baby’ makes it a little repulsive. Nevertheless, if you could get over that fact and have GBP8,000 to spare for this beauty. It is all good.

Salvatore Ferragamo Gancio Closure Clutch

Ferragamo bags mostly failed to excite me last season so we did not see many being featured but this clutch is a meeting point between classic elegance and Bohemian style. Measuring at 40cmx21cmx13cm and made entirely in Italy of soft calfskin, the bag is a not-to-be-missed deal at GBP329 (50% off from GBP659). The clutch is available in 3 colours – Plum (featured), Green and Biscuit. Rush to your nearest Ferragamo store or shop online here!

Gucci Secret Medium Hobo

I have secretly and subconsciously been eyeing this Gucci hobo bag for a few weeks now. At the first sight, it was okay, not iconic like the New Jackie but upon further and closer look, it just grows on me. The GG fabric in color sand looks way better than the classic brown playing background to the dark brown leather trims, including some croc patches which should have jacked up the price ridiculously. Nevertheless the croc skin texture adds the much needed extra touch to the bag, making it looks more elegant and far more expensive. At GBP1,590, it is not exactly cheap but at least this bag looks classy and worth the money. The size is big enough to be a man-hobo too.
