Kate Spade Windsor Palace Snake Gwendolyn

Inspired by the upscale style of the world’s grandest palace and Queen’s Elizabeth II’s weekend home, the Gwendolyn is a chic and classic. Made of Italian leather with snake-skin emboss treatment, the bag is a luxury without breaking your bank account. I like the contrasting bow at the side which gives a demure feel to the bag without overdoing it. This beautiful piece costs only USD595, also available in silver metallic finish leather.

Bottega Veneta Aquatre Bag

Tomas Maier opted for an unfinished look for this bag which is kinda cool and foreign to what we has rebuilt the brand to be. For summer, this natural look is a perfect match and do not let the rawness deceive you because the workmanship remains impeccable. The only problem is, I am not sure how many would splurge USD3,250 for such a bag. Make no mistake, I am digging it but I just find it tad overpriced.

Ferragamo Gancini Clutch

This is my favorite Salvatore Ferragamo iconic clutch. This beauty has been seen many times being clutched by some of the world’s most fashionable women including Blair Waldorf and Lily Bass in Gossip Girl. For the Spring/Summer 2010, the clutch has been issued in patent leather in eye-catching colors such as this hot red and sky blue. A simple, iconic, elegant and timeless clutch is not easy to find. This one costs USD1,050, a good price for such a classic item.

Salvatore Ferragamo “Grant” Briefcase

Call me conservative but I think this is quite a nice man bag. Salvatore Ferragamo’s Gancini printed canvas is a newbie in the world of logo showcasing. This is not bad for those who want something flashy but avoid the usual Gucci GG and Louis Vuitton Monogram canvas. Price is also not too bad at Bloomingdale’s for USD990.

Gucci Artisan Corner

What do you buy into a USD2,000 bag? Timeless design, superb materials and impeccable workmanship that translate to enduring quality, I guess. Gucci’s most skilled artisans will travel the world to selected Gucci stores to be stationed at temporary custom-built workshops where the clientele could witness live the process of crafting Gucci’s most iconic bags such as the New Jackie and the New Bamboo among others. Moreover, they will also hand-emboss customer’s initial on the bag on the spot – talking about high-end luxury. Current schedule includes Tokyo, Osaka, Rome, Paris, New York, Chicago and Beverly Hills. Hello Gucci… how about Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai??? I hope they will include more stores in the process, especially with the opening of the new flagship store in Singapore, why exclude it? Anyway, just in case it never happens, watch the teaser here.

Furla Rubino Bag

Furla makes classic bags which to the younger crowds, tend to come cross as “old” but over the past few seasons, the house has introduced more colors and shapes that are still pretty timeless but appealing younger. This Rubino tote is a beautiful convertible bag, made of leather with python-effect finishing, available in pink, light blue, black and white. Priced at GBP635, it is just right for a timeless leather bag of this size with a perfect dose of style and elegance.

Penelope Cruz with Ralph Lauren Dress and Clutch

I watch ‘NINE’ last week and have to agree that while Rob Marshall is still one of the greatest Hollywood’s Directors, he did not manage to come anywhere close to ‘CHICAGO’. The cast did deliver what they are expected to, especially Penelope Cruz who just owned the scenes. Penelope Cruz owned the night at the London Premier of ‘NINE’ in Ralph Lauren gown, paired with a gorgeous blue snakeskin clutch from the designer too. I think she scored nine out of nine here.

Furla Man Goa Briefcase

Now the game is on! It seems like Furla is stepping up its effort to gain a bigger pie of the expanding market share of man bags. The Goa briefcase is a very cool bag meant for a cool man too. I am loving the vintage feel from the creased sheepskin, which should be soft and the rich dark brown color which provides a beautiful contrast to the brown-orange web handles and shoulder strap. Price is not bad for a full leather, made in Italy bag at GBP524 too. LOVE it!

Hermes Jige Clutch

One of the Hermes classic pieces, the Jige clutch is a perfectly elegant and understated clutch made entirely of leather without a single piece of hardware. For the Spring/Summer 2010, the collection is re-introduced in the signature Blue Jean, orange, Honey, black and a dashing yellow. Price starts from USD2,175 for the large  size (cheaper than the smaller for whatever reason) in my favorite leather of Hermes’, the Epsom (featured here in the signature orange). What a piece…
