There is a restraining mood in general clouding over the Milan Fashion Week which closed last week. It is not necessarily a bad thing as a less fashion-y collection would generally be more wearable (and commercial) if executed right and it seems to be case in Fendi. Karl Lagerfeld certainly downplayed the dresses and the coats, including the furs yet they are not gloomy, probably thanks to a splash of yellow, which rarely appears in a Fall/Winter collection. The bags might not have taken center stage here (the overall look did) but I am glad they are generally utilitarian and somewhat classic material. Also, Fendi seems to be advocating personalization on its bag tags like Louis Vuitton does. Talking about repeating a success formula, LVMH seems to always be on the front line. Can’t wait for them to hit the stores end of this year.
