Louis Vuitton Core Values Campaign 2010

Three Great Journeys, One Historic Game.. 3 Living Football Legends team up for LOUIS VUITTON’s Core Values Campaign which will launch worldwide in June issues – new visuals feature three legendary soccers players of our time; Diego Maradona, Zinédine Zidane and Pelé. The pictures were taken by Annie Leibovitz in a bar in Madrid, where she captured the atmosphere of fun & friendly rivalry among the three personalities playing on a table football.

Check out www.louisvuittonjourneys.com for a featured conversation between the 3 players, in which they discuss their careers, recall the great matches they played in, and exchange views on the world’s favourite game. The last part will experience Pelé and Zidance challenge with each other to a match of table football.

I think the campaign is pretty timely planned with the upcoming world cup fever. Always love the core values campaigns and I think this one is really strong too. A Mon-monogrammed suitcase (presumably belonging to Zidane) and a Keepall are seen near the bar in the picture.

Ralph Lauren St-Germain Store and Denim Python Hobo

Ralph Lauren set to conquer Europe by opening its largest and most luxurious European store in 173, boulevard Saint-Germain, Paris last week. The flagship store is the Ralph Lauren world where you could find anything the American classic mega brand makes, from watches to riding saddle, there is even a restaurant there. Above is the look of the Watch Salon in the store where the Ralph Lauren watches are available for your retail therapy.

I am also mesmerized by this beautiful python bag in denim color. The bag is priced at USD3,995.

Fall 2010 Bag Preview

Singapore is not a bad place to live in except for the weather which is either hot and humid or raining. Can’t it just be, for once, nice? Yet before I get attacked by readers who would kill for weather like Singapore’s, I am not complaining, just pondering. Anyway, now that the summer is around, Fall 2010 bags are up for preview too. There are some new creations which is excellent remembering that designers have been pretty lazy for the past few seasons just playing variations on their existing design.

Miu Miu East-West Buckled Satchel

Turn-lock satchel bag has lately been very popular. Proenza Schouler is responsible for bringing the shape back with its PS1and then Mulberry with its Alexis and now Miu Miu too. I am not complaining as more choices is always a good thing for consumers. What I could say about this version from Miu Miu is it is simpler, more elegant and is made entirely of deerskin. Anyone you choose from, it is just strictly based on preference on the details as not one is more superior than the other two. The satchel is available at Bergdorf for USD1,650.

Lanvin Happy Shoulder Bag in Snake Skin

I feel a sense of happiness whenever I look at this beautiful bag from Lanvin. The Happy shoulder bag is a classic design from the French house but in this white snakeskin, it is just divine! I think this shoulder bag possess all the quality of the classic Chanel bag for less, even in snakeskin. I think it is giving the Chanel flap bag a good run for its money. A beautiful iconic bag, made entirely of snakeskin for USD2,2,33 is extremely justifiable. Get one from Bergdorf today!

Askme – Bell & Ross Watches

Hi

You listed down Bell & Ross Instrument as one of your next watches. I am very fond of the Instrument too but it does not seem very popular with watch aficionados. What would be your take?

Jimz, Manchester

Hi Jimz

From my limited knowledge about watches (I just got hooked very recently), unlike other brands such as Rolex, Omega or Patek (and several other in the same category of the more “respected” ones too), Bell & Ross does not use an own-built movement and uses the standard ETA movement hence true watch aficionados feel that the price tag is not justifiable. The movement is also my only reservation but if you can get pass that, I think you should go for it. After all, the watch is very durable and the standard ETA movement used is a good one too. Consider getting a pre-owned one if the price tag does not feel right but you really like the watch. I might.
