Smythson has always been known for its first class stationery, leather goods and cabinet work since it was first established in 1887. Some readers have asked me what other leather goods companies are comparable to Hermes in term of its prestige, craftsmanship and heritage. I have to say that although Goyard, Valextra and Loewe are pretty close, Hermes has always been known as the “King” of leather goods. Smythson, on the other hand, is comparable with most of these giants despite the fact that it has been know more for its personalized stationery. The newest addition to its signature Nancy handbag is the large tote in Amber color. I have to say that the price of this tote at GBP795 is such a steal. I will have no doubt that the quality of the material and workmanship is impeccable as with anything that is produced by Smythson. The company made its first handbag in 1902 so it has a history of over a century. Smythson ships worldwide.
