My siblings and I had our first trip to the South Korea last December. The land promises perfect boy/girl band choreography, spotless complexion, cheap but quality skin products, stars who look too cute to be true (they might not necessarily be) and trendy fashion for skinny people with affordable price so in here, little did we expect to be greeted (and swept away) by bags from Bruno Magli. But boy… we really were!

Bruno Magli shoes tend to stay on the safer side of design, which makes them look like grannies standing next to the likes of Choos, Louboutins and Manolos. Once in a blue moon, however, it surprises me. The last time that happened, I ended up buying a pair of SGD565 Bruno Magli shoes that I still consider one of my most precious treasures til date.

While shopping, we came across a pleasant surprise of uncovering an exclusive line of bags made by Bruno Magli only for the South Korean market. Their cube shape bag, made popular by the TV star, Yoon Eun Hye, has been spotted with her in her show  and in real life, propelling the status of the bag to somewhat ‘It”. We love the bag the moment we saw it and we adore every single of its details – the leather, workmanship, light weight, color choices and of course, its style and design. The bag is officially our “best buy” from the trip, alongside my green leather jacket from Zara.

The bag still does not have an official name yet. Somebody in the marketing department of Bruno Magli better picks up the slack because I honestly think that this bag has a big potential outside Korea! It should have been named the Cube bag or the YEH bag or something and promoted more. As of now, too bad only the Koreans get to enjoy this beautiful creation. The bag was sold out in December. Askme – Celine Luggage Bag

Hi Purseholic

Everywhere I see, people are either carrying or crying desperately to carry a Celine Luggage bag. The bag is all my friends and colleagues have been talking abut lately. What is the deal with this bag? I quite like the small one with shoulder strap but unsure whether it will be one of those bags I regret buying a few months later. Should I jump onto the wagon and play along?

If you have the means, you should jump onto that Luggage wagon too as it is the first bag in decades, I think, that has posted a serious competition to the Hermes Birkin so the bag could not be as trendy and seasonal as you fear. Nevertheless, I can’t say much about the Nano size, which is the one you like with the shoulder strap (20cm x 20cm x 10cm). If staying power is what you opt for, the size Mini (30cm x 30cm x 18cm) is the one you should go with. Other sizes to consider are the Shoulder (30cm x 37cm x 18cm) and the Micro (26cm x 26cm x 14cm). What is the deal with this bag? It is just ‘It’: simple, fuss-free, classy and versatile bag that comes with relatively reasonable price tag but as hard to get as some most valued art pieces. The hard-to-come-by part might be off-putting to some but it is a thrill to most. We ran out of our Mini Luggage bags within one month. The handbag bug must have bitten the people at Rochas because they seem to have become really serious about the business. After series of colorful and palatable totes last season as teasers, The Rochas Lock tote comes across as the perfect main “dish”. This Rochas tote embodies Creative Director Marco Zanini’s vision of the house: “the quintessence of Parisian women with edge.” Cleanly structured, this bag eschews superfluous embellishments and instead makes a statement with versatile color. The bag is lined with lambskin and is competitively priced at USD1,810 at Neiman Marcus. I am sensing a strong comeback here. The Lock tote is available for pre-order now for delivery in April 2012.

Fendi Baguette Revisited – Will You Love Again?

In the February issue of US Vogue, Plum Sykes wrote about her original love for the original “It” bag back in the 90s – The Fendi Baguette. Fendi will be bringing back 6 of its most iconic Baguette bags this Spring. After trying on the three bags Fendi sent to her, Sykes finally decided that the Baguette will be relevant again this Spring so it does not hurt to review some of the currently available Baguettes again, just in case it goes “It” and unattainable again in a few months. The two pieces that I love the most in the current line-up are the beaded multicolor version (left, price is USD2,680) and the strawberry red leather version (right, price is USD1,260). Will you fall in love again with the arguably, your first love with bags?

Hermes accessories are wearable pieces of art. Each piece is an investment that never goes out of style and looks better with age. The Cape Code PM watch costs EUR1,950 and the Clic H bangle costs EUR459.

Lastly, everyone needs a serious watch to be taken seriously and this has increasingly applicable to women too. While Rolex, Cartier and Patek remain the front-runners for ladies watches, Chopard is another brand not to be forgotten. The Imperiale collection is as elegant as it could get. Rochas Scalloped Bag

Rochas is officially stepping into the handbag game dressing like Celine and Hermes. It is not a bad thing as both houses are selling their bags faster than they could make them. The Rochas Scalloped bag is what I would call the picture perfect lady-like bag with a small discreet twist. The bag is a classic material, not really versatile but lovely with most things nevertheless. Price is USD1,585 at Neiman Marcus. It is a great choice if you are looking for a white leather bag to last.

Shoppe the Hermes Constance ‘H’ Belt

The Hermes H belt in 32mm width is now a staple piece in many wardrobes around the world that not having at least one feels like you are left behind. Incidentally (or not, since this is Hermes), it is sold out everywhere too. We are lucky to have been able to get our hands on two pieces in beautiful color combo last month.
