Alexander McQueen Chanter Studded Hobo

I think Sarah Burton is on fire now! Just look at this royally and regally beautiful suede hobo bag in this beautiful shade of royal blue, adorned by gold ridge-textured buttons. Everything about this bag screams royal, which is what it is meant to be since it is inspired by regimental uniforms of the British Order of the Garter. Price is very steep, IMO, at USD3,150 but in a very rare moment of weakness, I will say it is worth the price tag.

Alexander McQueen Novak Soft Satchel

The Novak satchel is one of the very few models of bags from the house of Alexander McQueen which iconic shape and design has made it instantly recognizable nowadays despite many of its incarnations. I absolutely adore this latest incarnation of the bag, which transforms the traditionally structured and more appropriate for work bag into a big, hug-ably soft, perfect for everyday use, from work to play and shop kind of bag. Everything we love from the original Novak is still there, it is just bigger and slouchier now. I think this version is a hit. Price is USD2,195 from Neiman Marcus.

And Alexander McQueen Won it All

It has been months of speculations and the best kept secret in the fashion industry; who will Katherine Middleton wear when she marries Prince William on 29 April 2011? We got the answer yesterday and Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen won it all. The dress was classic beautiful, elegant and timeless. It is something that fashion icons such as Grace Kelly or Audrey Hepburn would have chosen for their wedding too and that really put the now Princess Kate on the map. Will she be as iconic as the late Princess Diana? Only time will tell but for now, let us all soak in the enjoyment of getting obsessed with all things British.

If you happen to be visiting London now, this box clutch by Sarah Burton for McQueen is quintessential British piece.  The punk skull clutch is a McQueen classic, McQueen is now a classic British brand like Burberry and with the studs forming the Union Jack design, it is Brits written all over. A monumental piece of work, if you ask me. Price is GBP835 and is currently sold out at net-a-porter.com.

What were they thinking? – McQueen Samurai Print Tote

Seriously? Is there a real need to murder a bag this way? Yes, I get that it is a McQueen and it is theatrical and all those stuff but it is still a bag and you should not be embarrassed being seen carrying one. I will NOT be caught dead carrying this bag in my sanest mind. Will you? And did I say that it costs USD925?

Alexander McQueen Lock-it Studded Bag

Studs could be overwhelming most of the time but when properly applied such as on this beautifully crafted McQueen bag and against vintage-inspired distressed red leather like this, it is an instant classic. McQueen bags have been pretty hot lately and this one is a classic material one should consider investing in. At GBP1213, it is not cheap but it is pretty well priced.

Alexander McQueen Skull-Embossed Zip-Top Tote

This tote is quite a thorough embodiment of the late Alexander McQueen. I saw someone carrying this baby a few weekends ago and I think it is really nice in person. It’s been on my mind for a few weeks now despite the fact that it is not one of the bags I will end up buying. It is still nice to be admired from far. Bag is available for order at Neiman Marcus now for USD1,625.

Alexander McQueen Faithful De-Manta leather tote

All we need sometimes is a little faith in life and then suddenly everything will turn out fine. The demise of the dearest Alexander McQueen is a permanent loss to the fashion world but the house seems to be going on fine without the head of Creatives. This nude full leather tote bag is one of the hottest bags I have seen recently. It has all the fineness, at the same time the bad-ass look of anything McQueen. If you are in the market for a big bag with attitude, this is worth buying. Available now at net-a-porter.com for USD1,165.

Farewell Alexander The Great

Alexander McQueen passed away on the 11th February 2010. Gucci Group has not commented on the fate and future of the design house without the designer who is also the founder. He will certainly be missed. Everything McQueen designer has been flying off the shelves now so while still available, try to get yourself a piece of the original McQueen. The glove clutch is a perfect classic piece with enough dose of badness the brand is known for. Available at Alexander McQueen stores physical or online for USD875.
