Could Chloé have been tired of making HIT bags? The Darla is a pretty unique but a little too trendy for my taste and the price could be more merciful at USD1,995. It is not a miss but definitely not a HIT nor an IT material.

The Chloé Elsie shoulder bag was one of the hottest IT bags last year so it is only natural that the French design house will issue another version of the Elsie. The Elsie bowling bag is the perfect antithesis to the original. The shape of the bag is similar to the Hermes Bolide or Louis Vuitton Alma, a classic, made fully of tan buffalo leather, accentuated only by the beautiful signature clasp on the original Elsie. The bag costs GBP800. at net-a-porter.com making it pretty reasonable for a new classic piece.

Is it me or the Chloé Paddington looks hot again here? Maybe it is the gold color which makes it suddenly looking shiny and new but it does remind me of why the bag became the IT bag when it first came out. It is now a classic and Chloé staple bag. Oh look at this!!!! Could houses like Fendi or Ferragamo start stealing some reference from Chloé for its handbags? This is a perfect follow-up to the hot Elsie flap bag. The Elsie satchel in python is on a league of its own: vintage-inspired, classy, elegant and youthful at the same time. I love everything about this bag including that beautifully crafted metal clasp of the bag. At USD2,895 for a full python bag, it is nicely justifiable. Available at Saks.

Oh this is such a beauteeyyyyyy!!!! If you are getting only one bag to last from Resort til Summer and to keep afterwards, take this one. Paraty is now one of Chloé classics and this gorgeus Curcuma (yellow) color will set you apart from the classic dark shades. Well done, Chloé! Available for pre-order at Bergdorf for USD1,895.

Chloé did it again. I criticised the Marlow in my most recent Chloé post and here it is back with a revenge, the bag in its best form, slapping me on my clever face. I had a chance to try out the large size myself in the Lane Crawford Hong Kong last week and I was hooked (but too pricey for me to really get it). The Marlow in leather is one thing and but in python, it is lighter and a lot more elegant too. The python skin texture perfectly compensates the simple design of the bag that I had deemed overly simple. It is now a subtle and elegant beauty, exactly what a Chloé bag should be. The medium size is available at Luisaviaroma for EUR2,458.33, inclusive of shipping to most countries around the world.

Chloé ALMOST nailed it again with Marlow but something is just missing to me with this bag. I think the front is overly plain and simple. What I like about this baby is its Birkin-esque shape but still it is just not as classy and elegant, nor younger or edgier. The Marlow leather tote is still a nice bag overall but I dun think it is a bag the likes of, say… Lily Bass would trade her Birkin or Kelly off for. It is somewhat neither here nor there for me. Not a very good stand for a bag costing more than a thousand Pounds.
