Loewe Online Shop and the Amazonas

Oh God… Finally the wait is over!!! Loewe e-shop is now open and it is time to satisfy your Amazona thirst.  I have been waiting for this for so long. Loewe might not be the IT brand yet in Asia and US but like I have mentioned over and over again, the classic brand is as beloved as Hermes in Europe and you know they have the best judgment when it comes to leather goods and fashion. The online shop is currently only available for Spain, France, Portugal and UK but I am sure it is about time that it expands. Worry not, for you in Singapore, there is always vPost.

Living up to the expectations, the Amazona selection is not bad to begin with. I am just disappointed that there is no Amazona weekender available in calf leather, only in suede, not many Calles and no Ame??? Check out the Loewe e-shop now and make your next bag purchase investment a Loewe Amazona. Trust me when I say it is a worthy one. Amazona bags starts from EUR820.

I chose my Louis Vuitton Sac Bosphore over this Amazona All Day in Paris last year. It is such a beautiful bag and though I am very much in love with my Sac, I might eventually get this one too one day. The bag costs EUR950 which is considered reasonable for such a fine workmanship on a full buffalo leather bag.

Lanvin Happy Partage Shoulder Bg

It is still no classic Chanel flap bag but the Lanvin Happy Partage is one of the house’s signature bag now. It does have all the characters of a classic bag like the Chanel. In fact, the resemble each other pretty much. The bag is uber feminine, which is tres Lanvin to begin with and I love the shade of Rogue on the beautiul purse. Available at Luisaviaroma.com at Euro956.67

My Classic Piece of Jackie

We have been wanting to do it but just managed to get to it last week. At last, this is the first post on our own collection of bags. We promise to post more as and when we could and whenever we come across a friend or relative with a beautiful bag.

A stylish bag with history

that carries a woman years after years

This piece is a perfect combo of two Gucci icons; the Jackie and the Flora Print.

Gucci Waist Belt Bag

One of my first designer bags is the Gucci waist belt bag in brown signature GG fabric which i still use often today and is indeed one of the best investments I ever made. Tom Ford created the two-compartment belt bag for Gucci in  early 2000s and after Sarah Jessica Parker was seen wearing it in a few episodes of Sex and the City, it instantly became an IT bag. The chic remains one of the house’s classic pieces,  reinvented in variety of materials season after season. I am not a big fan of the GG Crystal in any color and I think this piece does not look as classy as my classic brown piece but trust me when i say no other waist belt bag out there is comparable to this Gucci classic. Before this, a waist belt bag is more to a fat, clumsy fanny pack used by tourists. Available at Gucci for GBP320.

Marc Jacobs Classic Little Lola Satchel

The Lola is probably the best most underrated Marc Jacobs bags around. What is not to like of this bag? The whole bag is made of luscious buttery-soft leather (especially in this shade of very hot red, called Bordeux) and the shape is classic and certainly functional. Marc Jacobs now comes up with the Little Lola, measuring 12″W x 9″H x 4.5″H, the bag is still not too small. The detachable shoulder strap provides a very good alternative to toting the bag. Best part is, this classic Marc Jacobs is priced at only USD875 at Saks. A full leather Marc Jacobs bag under USD1,000? Being underrated is not that bad.

Coach Sabrina Studded Bag

I said anything studded will be HUGE next season and believe me, no designer will want to be left out from this stud-studded business, including Coach. I have not made any entry on Coach for a while despite the fact that the brand launches a few new designs almost every month as the last one that has left a strong impression on me is still the Sabrina. The Sabrina has become a classic bag of Coach in its own right and probably one of the house’s best sellers for all the most obvious reasons. For Fall 2009, Coach reissued the Sabrina not only in leather of gorgeous new colors such as green, grey and mustard, it also studded the large Sabrina hence glamming it up a few notches making the elegant simple bag a bag Donatella Versace  herself might approve. Finally, at USD798, i will have to highly recommend this bag again. Everything about this baby is just perfect!

Chanel Jumbo Flap Crocodile Shoulder Bag

Chanel flap bag is one of the most classic bags in the history of bagkind. I have a friend who inherits a Chanel flap from her mom who inherits it from her mother (ok, the grandmother got it when she was pretty old, the mom inherited for a while and passed to my friend when she was like 17) and the best thing is, it never goes out of style til today. Chanel flap in lambskin or caviar are definitely the favourites to go but a croc jumbo flap does not come by often. Lucky you, there is currently one piece available at Fashionphile for USD14,950, down from a jaw-dropping USD28,000. The bag was almost totally new and was from Fall 2007 collection. This glam baby will make a very covetable family heirloom.

Balenciaga Motorcycle Work Bag Fall 2009

I have been “feeling” Balenciaga motorcycle bags (Work and Weekender) very strongly recently. Perhaps it is in line with me embracing my “rock” side which goes from music choices to clothing style and attitude (ehem…) lately and Balenciaga motorcycle bag’s rugged and non-pretentious personality definitely fits the bill like a key to its lock. Anyway, the bag has become a classic so it is a worthy “investment”. I did not manage to get my Gucci treat i mentioned last week but i am seriously contemplating treating myself to my first Balenciaga bag. Work or Weekender? I need to try out the size this weekend. Meanwhile, the color choices for Fall 2009 are very very indulging and torturing at the same time. Balenciaga issues the bags in same design but unique colors, exclusive to the season (name it differently from season to season too) which makes it more desirable to collect. These are just few of my favourites. Work starts from USD1,595 while Weekender from USD1,695. Be still my crying heart….

From left top, clockwise: Autumn, Mandarin, Storm and Ruby Red.

Zagliani Small Pleat Shoulder Bag

I have been bitten by Zagliani bug and i am more than happy to surrender myself. And i am in love with Harvey Nichols. Why did i just visit them online recently when i have always proudly hailed them as my favorite upscale department store in Asia? Silly me! Now back to the beauty. This bag is completely and  utterly gorgeous in the simplest design execution. Zagliani’s python skin is always slightly metallic and as soft as cashmere. This small shoulder bag is nothing but elegant and classy. Now tuck the shoulder chain inside the bag and voila! It makes a gorgeous clutch too. My sisters will love this baby to the core. Best thing is it is being marked down at 50% off from GBP1,100 to only GBP550. I plead you not to miss this baby.

Zagliani Large Puffy Bag in Patent Turquoise

OMG! The classic Zagliani Puffy bag at 50% off? How could it still be available? Especially in this rare stunning  patent turquoise color, it just doesn’t get any better than this!! This baby has suede lining in contrasting fuschia color, more fun than the usual black/ brown. If this color combo is too striking for you, the one in classic-classic patent white with brown lining is also still available. I have always loved Harvey Nichols for their selection of goods and clearly this is not in any way disappointing. I just hate it that there isn’t any in Singapore at this point of time. The Zagliani Large Puffy Patent bag in Python is down from GBP1,870 to only GBP935. I have promised to avert labelling shopping as an investment but once in a while, for a deal this good, the term has to come up again. This is a worthy investment! Click here to invest now!
