A good friend of mine introduced me to this beautiful brand lately and I could not stop thinking about the Callisto bag he recently got from Paris. Originally known as the OEM manufacturer of exotic skin watch straps for watches like Gucci and Panerai, Camille Fournet has outgrown its heritage and is producing leather goods with exceptional quality and craftsmanship worth our money.
I am smitten by the Callisto 35 bag in full python skin in this natural color like the one he had bought. The lining of the bag is made entirely of goatskin and every inch of this bag is very Hermes-esque. The price on its French “La Boutique En Ligne” (online store) is EUR1,600 (before taxes). The picture here does not do justice of this bag in real person. I will try to post the real picture taken with my friend’s bag.
Check out the mouth-watering small leather goods in alligator skin too!

When you have a piece of skin python in beautiful color like this as the material, there is no wonder the end product in the form of a bag could end up this beautiful. Admittedly the design of the bag is not really that original (kinda like a briefcase, if you ask me). Price is around SGD5,000, which is OK for a python bag but now my big question is – if you have five grands to spend on a python bag, would you spend it on this Prada or the custom-made Tod’s D-bag I featured last week? Hmm…

I am still swooning over Burberry bags so pardon me for the repeated posts on Burberry for the past one week. You should however understand why this one has to be featured. Look at this classic inspired briefcase. They just do not make men bags like this anymore nowadays, especially in full alligator skin. Price is SGD35,995. Yes, it is overpriced even for a bag of this caliber of class and beauty.

The runway bags line up in the men’s Burberry Fall/Winter 2011 collection is super luxurious with mouth-watering choices in alligator skin in beautiful colors. Look at this vertical tote and you know what I am talking about. This tote is available in this classic color called clay and burgundy. Price, on the other hand, is 5 bucks short of SGD34,000. That’s right – it reads SGD33,995 on the price tag.

A typical ‘Custom made’ corner in a Tod’s boutique
It has been made available in Singapore since March this year but I did not really get to cover this until I visited the small corner in Tod’s Paragon store today. Tod’s has upped the ante by offering the custom made service for its iconic products in luxurious skins such as python and croc in various color choices. Among few, the iconic Gommini shoes and D-Bag are the clear top choices.

I am loving the medium D-Bag in python, which costs SGD4,950 and 5 months of waiting but I really think it is worth every single cent and second of it, I almost placed one for myself in the military green shade until I realized I really needed to wait after the amount of shopping I had done this month. The croc version of the D-bag will set you back by more than SGD40,000 so that is a story for another day. If you are in the look for something special, make that urgent trip to the store now and be pampered with the choices of style, material and color options that would set you apart from the other off-the-shelf shoppers. I got my hands on a few interesting things today, which I will share later next week but this tops all of them hands down!

Classically beautiful with superb vintage appeal and luxurious touch of classiness is how I would describe this flap bag from Gucci. I know we are only half way into the year but this could simply be in the top 5 of this year’s hottest bags. Price starts from USD2,100 for the leather version, USD2,900 for this python version (which I think is a steal!), USD3,550 for the lizard skin version and of course USD12,800 for the croco version.

This baby has got to be flying off the shelves!!! I had to double check the price tag of this bag when I first saw but it is true that for whatever reason, Gucci has priced this full python skin shoulder bag for USD1,800. However, the great price tag is not the only reason this bag worth a second look. The vintage and timeless appeal of this bag is worth every single dollar of the bag too. Put your money in it!
