Louis Vuitton Monogram Hexagone

I have not been fond of or excited with the Monogram Hexagone at all by any bit ever since its debut on the Fall / Winter 2009 man runway and now the bags are officially available in Vuitton stores. The only thing i love about this line is that the bags are lined with leather rather than canvas or cotton but the Hexagon Monogram looks awkward and not fine to me. The prices are not helping either. Keepall 45 is priced at USD5,100 while the messenger bag (named Néo Trocadero) is priced at USD3,950. Maybe for Huge Vuitton fans, but obviously not for me. Is it for you?

Louis Vuitton Bellevue PM in Rose Pop

I was invited to a store opening (Larry Jewelry) at Ion Orchard yesterday. Admittedly, window-shopping diamonds and jewelries worth more than SGD300,000 a piece really perks one up and gives big appetitte for lunch, which in a nutshell means a great day! After Larry, my friend, Jean and I went into the Vuitton store and that is where Jean got hooked by the Vuitton Bellevue PM in Rose Pop. Along with Orange Sunset, Bleu Nuit (blue) and Vert Bronze, the Rose pop (shocking pink) is the new addition of color choices to Monogram Vernis range. I have always like the Bellevue PM for its size, unique shape, material and of course the relatively good price for a full leather Vuitton bag. I am not by nature fond of pink shades (unlike my sister) but I really like this bag upon seeing it. The Bellevue PM in the Rose Pop costs Euro575 (SGD1,390), also available in Red and Orange Sunset but trust more, both are pale in comparison compared with the Rose Pop.

Chanel Coco Cocoon Collection

There are many things to look forward to this September and October. The Vogue September Issue (both the movie and the magazine), Coco Before Chanel, the movie (coming to most parts in Asia only in September) and the exciting reversible bag collection from Chanel, called the Coco Cocoon. Lily Allen is the face of the campaign and the ad looks flawless in black and white, which is very Chanel. I can’t wait to view the bag in person.

Loewe Tall Ame in Ostrich

Loewe, the gem of Spanish luxury leather good brands is now one of the hottest brand to watch after being spotted carried by the likes of Victoria Beckham. Out of US, especially in Europe the brand has always been comparable to Hermes of France or Valextra of Italy for its classic designs, luxurious material and craftmanship. In fact, for us in Asia and Europe, we have been more fortunate to have known and loved this brand for years before. In the past, Loewe’s signature bag has always been the only Amazona, a favourite of European princesses and royalties but for Fall 2009, Loewe is pushing the Ame, the younger Amazona. The Loewe Tall Ame featured here is a classic design that will last for years to come . This particular bag is still not available in stores yet, but my guess is the damage will be around USD10,000.

Miu Miu Studded Leather Clutch

We have not featured a Miu Miu bag for a long time so this is a good break to the break. Note to Miuccia, I dun think Katie Cruise is a good Miu Miu face so find someone else more exciting for the next campaign please. Anywho, it is official that we are seeing studs anywhere now and if you would like to participate in this fashion trend, this leather clutch from Miu Miu makes a good start. The clutch is made entirely of leather with studs all over. Instead of coming across as being over-embellished, the clutch just seems so right. The size of this baby is right too (29cm x 17cm x 4cm), not too big yet big enough to match the styling. Get studded with this clutch at GBP395.44 via Net-a-porter.

YSL Studded Easy Bag

This is a heart-stopping beauty from YSL for Fall 2009. My heart skipped at least two beats when i saw this last weekend. The damage? Just SGD3,500 but think about how this bag will be extremely trendy for the next few months and become a fashionably classic afterwards. Stefano Pilati and his team over at YSL is a bunch of genius.

Coach Sabrina Studded Bag

I said anything studded will be HUGE next season and believe me, no designer will want to be left out from this stud-studded business, including Coach. I have not made any entry on Coach for a while despite the fact that the brand launches a few new designs almost every month as the last one that has left a strong impression on me is still the Sabrina. The Sabrina has become a classic bag of Coach in its own right and probably one of the house’s best sellers for all the most obvious reasons. For Fall 2009, Coach reissued the Sabrina not only in leather of gorgeous new colors such as green, grey and mustard, it also studded the large Sabrina hence glamming it up a few notches making the elegant simple bag a bag Donatella Versace  herself might approve. Finally, at USD798, i will have to highly recommend this bag again. Everything about this baby is just perfect!
