Berluti E Mio Doctor Bag

Ooow crap! Just when I thought that I would not be wanting to buy a new bag anymore soon because there has been nothing I really like, Berluti just pushed its classic E Mio in four irresistible colors – powdery caramel, smoky green (HOT!), ember red (HOT!) and silky blue. Price is GBP1,940, which is steep enough but it is retailing at SGD5,690 in the Berluti store at Ngee Ann City. The bag also includes a shoulder strap so it is just… well, perfect.

Gucci Two Pocket Shoulder Bag

Most men are afraid of colors so they tend to go with black or brown for their bags. Navy blue is probably the nest best shade any man should consider for his bag. Like a navy color suit, a navy color bag is as versatile and classic as a black could be but almost as exciting and eye-catching as a white piece. This Gucci leather shoulder bag is understated, handsome and very attractive. I also love the fact that the shoulder strap is Gucci’s signature blue-red-blue stripes and that the bag is lined with suede and not with cheap nylon or canvas. Price of this baby is USD2,200, which is not as cheap as some other entry-level Gucci bags cost  these days but it is definitely not a bag for an entry-level man either.

Fendi Washed Calfskin Cut-out ‘F’ Tote

I saw this tote on display in the Marina Bay Sands last month and it has been haunting me ever since.  Then again, what is there not to like really? The whole bag, including the detachable shoulder strap and the additional zip pouch inside is made of washed calfskin. The design of the bag is simplistic yet handsome and very classy, making it somewhat anti-trendy too. Best of all, for such a bag, Fendi is just charging USD950! I can’t believe my eyes when I saw the price and on bluefly.com, there is even further 20% off, making it only USD760! I am no longer in a market for a new bag now but if I were, this would have been the first to go with.

Loewe Amazona Tote

The Loewe Amazona bag is a classic and its unlined suede version is a testament to the exceptional quality of the leather being used as it requires both sides of the leather to be perfect before it can be used. The Amazona tote borrows all the beauty and the winning elements of its classic counterpart and in this white and black color combo… it just doesn’t get any better than this. Price is GBP1,400.

The Return of the Classic Handsome Man Bag

I can picture Indiana Jones wearing this handsome bag. There is something about the Berluti-like hand-stained glazed leather that is so fine and rugged at the same time. It is clearly not beauty in a traditional feminine way,  it is handsome and manly. Looking for the perfect Valentine’s gift for your beloved man? This certainly tops all the bags you could find this year. Price is USD2,850 at Saks.com.

Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2011 Bags

Clutches are big at the Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2011 men’s collection. With Vuitton focusing on Asia as its fastest growing market, it is only fitting that they recognize how clutches make an important accessory to the men in Asia. I bought my Taiga clutch from Vuitton in 2008 and it is still a good investment piece. These babies are mushrooming in the runway now.

Burberry Structured Grainy Leather Holdall

Burberry has just done something the other designer houses shall follow soon: it included Singapore, which obviously a small market compared to markets like US, Japan and China in its list of online shopping site. Technically, it is not something difficult to implement, especially with Burberry having stores almost everywhere around the world today but the point is, the others might never even consider to do it ever until now. Bailey has always put Burberry at the forefront of incorporating technologies into its marketing and branding and think of this as a small step to outdo the others yet again.

Something caught my eyes on the site and it is this handsome leather bag which is appropriate for both the lunar new year and the Valentine’s day, don’t you think? Excuses aside, I would probably have landed my hands on this baby if I had not just got myself a similar bag from Prada (which I love!!). Price is GBP750 at UK site and SGD2,395. You in Singapore, don’t ask me about the exchange rate. It seems like it was still in year 2008.

Yay or Nay? – Gucci Medium Carry-on Duffel

Will you buy this Gucci bag if you have SGD15,000 to spare? Gucci has a special place in my heart but  with 15 grands, I could have landed my hand on a nice Hermes Birkin 40cm, pre-owned with mint condition and made entirely of leather and it would have been a smarter investment. Yes, I can see this bag is made of croc skin but at least 50% of the whole bag is still made of jacquard fabric. Also, for a bag that is of its price and looking like a Birkin, doesn’t it deserve at least a name?

Gucci Textured Leather Briefcase

White briefcases are tricky to pull off for a man so it is best to be avoided but some bags are so impressive, it is worth taking the risk. This textured leather bag from Gucci is modern, stylish and not boring at all for a briefcase but not too over-the-top for a white bag. The texture of the leather is neat too, making it looks prim and proper. Priced at USD1,790, it is not a cheap bag but it is one of the best Gucci man bags I have seen recently.

Salvatore Ferragamo Venna Vintage Messenger

Not all messenger bags are created equally. By nature, it is a more relax bag but if it should work with professionals too to stretch its value. Then again, most messenger bags that work for work are mostly rigid and structured which might not work for more relaxed occasions. This Ferragamo Venna messenger is quite a good balance between work and play. The leather has been distressed to give out that vintage vibe which equals character. I can imagine this being worn with both tee and jeans and shirt and tie. Price is USD1,600 from Neiman Marcus.
