My Own Goyard St Louis PM

It is the most basic and simplest of Goyard bags but it showcases the core values of Goyard: heritage, unparalled craftsmanship and attention to details. Goyard Malletier, the French luxury trunk maker was established in 1853, a year older than the venerable Louis Vuitton. Having shared similar heritage and number of years in the business, strangely the two brands could not have been any more different: While Louis Vuitton is now the biggest luxurious brand in the world that makes thousands of bags, luggage and bags annually and serve customers from the celebrities, aristocrats, politicians, business people to the Beckhams, Donald Trump and the Kardashians (basically whoever can pay), Goyard on the other hand, is a closely guarded secret, adored only by the likes of the royal families or style inner circle like Karl Lagerfeld and Simon Doonan. Over the recent years, the brand has enjoyed some exposure from celebrities like Hillary Duff and Shania Twain but still, it is nowhere as visible as Louis Vuitton.

The main thing about Goyard is its Goyardine canvas. Til date, the signature canvas remains painstakingly painted by hand as opposed to being printed like in the case of Vuitton Monogram or Damier Canvas. The Goyardine canvas is available in 10 choices of colors, including the classic black, red and brown and the limited edition colors such as my favorite green and blue. They are as light and water-resistant as Vuitton canvases.

Goyard does not sell their goods online or puts any catalog online. Every sale must be serviced directly by one of their sales assistants and therefore, only direct visit to one of the 9 Goyard stores all over the world or email service are available. The store manager of their flagship store at 233 Rue Saint Honore in Paris, Monsieur Erich, is very helpful and is contactable at 233@goyard.com. He will be more than happy to answer your queries on product availability and prices for your desired item, personalization services and international express shipping.

The price for the St Louis PM like the one I have here is EUR680. I have a feeling this is just a beginning of my long lasting love affair with the house of Goyard.

My Own Jack Russell Malletier Business Bag

I would have been disappointed with the condition of the bag shipped should I have paid its full amount but at the more than half-off discount I got, I am pretty happy with the bag. The problem is that it had been stuffed into a box so it kinda lost its shape and being made of vinyl means it will take a while before it could come back to its true shape. In the picture, the bag has been stuffed with heavy books to “re-shape” it and the color is gray as opposed to the black shown here.

On the up-side, one thing that you ought to know besides the fact that Jack Russell Malletier bags are still pretty rare is that they offer an international loss guarantee which gives the owner 50% off the retail price of the same or equivalent bag (if sold out) upon loosing the bag. Not many bag companies dare to do this so it is pretty cool. All you need to do is to keep the guarantee card separately. The bag retails at EUR195 in Paris or at www.jrmalletier.com. I love the Jack Russell monogram lining and the internal padding for notebook.

My Own Omega Speedmaster Date

I had been up and down and toying with a few choices over the past few months and the good time to get my first “serious” watch after losing my dear Hamilton last year. Over the Omega Seamaster, Tag Heuer Carrera Tachymetre, the Omega “moon watch” and the Tag Heuer Link Chronograph, I ended up with this “the more I look at, the more I love” Omega Speedmaster Date in silver dial, courtesy of an early birthday gift ^^. This will set it for my daily watch for a while and I really think I made the right choice!

Up next? Maybe a dress watch – a Tudor with diamonds/ IWC Portuguese or Portofino/ Maurice Lacroix Masterpiece / AP Royal Oak or maybe a military watch like a Bell & Ross Instrument/ Panerai Luminor. Who knows??

My Own Louis Vuitton Sac Bosphore

My one and only Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas bag and I really love it for its size, shape and convertibility. It is more than one year old now and the Vachetta leather trims are collecting Patina. I got it from the Avenue Montaigne store in Paris last year and the price has since increased from EUR760 to EUR795. The tag is a separate buy and is personalized with my initials.

Pikolinos Cabo Verde Women Boots

I’m so jealous. A friend at work talked about getting ready for her long-awaited Europe trip in Christmas. A close friend is on her way to  Seoul and Hong Kong and will be spending a real long time there. Another ex-schoolmate is visiting his boyfriend in Beijing and talked about getting a pair of boots. So, speaking of the latter one, I actually bought myself a nice pair on impulse in Hong Kong!

It wasn’t a very cold day but almost every woman on the streets was already in boots! As a matter of fact, women are more beautiful in boots and look somewhat more confident. I told J, no matter what, I’ve got to get a pair asap and I did. =)

Made in Spain and of semi-vegetable tanned leather with medium heel (medium was just right because I had to climb hundreds of staircases to see the Big Bronze Buddha that day so…….). Priced at HKD 1,440 / SGD 260 after some discounts, were totally worth it. Fyi they didn’t hurt. An impulse purchase with no regrets after, they are naturally good =).

My Mom’s Prada Satchel

That was Dee using my mom’s bag that was purchased in Firenze last year. The trims are deer skin and the body is made of jacquard canvas making the bag looks classy yet light weight. This Prada bag is one of my mom’s favorites in her collection and is an object of envy to her peers (and my grandma) since it is a one-time season item that is no longer in production.

Belt is by Patrizia Pepe, shades from Gucci and the orange scarf is from Calvin Klein.

My Own Balenciaga Work Fall 2009 Autumn

I have fallen in love with Balenciaga Work since last July and despite almost got side-tracked by some other bags (Gucci New Jackie, Loewe Amazona Weekender, Hermes Marwari and Prada Trolley Suitcase), I am glad that I managed to fall back onto this baby, especially in this beautiful vintage color (called Autumn). I have only used it once  so far (one day after I bought it last Saturday) and it has already made it into the top three favorites of my small collection. Get it from Balenciaga.com for USD1,595. Trust me when I said that this bag is such a great investment and that the soft vintage crafted lambskin is to-die-for. The bag comes with a mirror tag which I prefer keeping than showing.
