Named after the famous French sponge cake, The Chloé Madeleine exudes the same feeling as the cake itself – light, nonchalant and the more you look at it (or in the case of the cake – eat it), the more you like it. I have been telling myself that it is just another duffel bag from yet another designer but when Chloé makes a duffel bag, it somehow is just different. This baby in this hot red is a perfect Valentine’s gift for a gal. Price is USD2.130 at Saks.com.

The Chloé Elsie could just be the undisputed hot bag which could be made into any version and will still be hot. I love both the original Elsie lamé shoulder bag, love the satchel, bowler and east/west satchel bag introduced last year and now, this exclusive to saks.com version is equally hot too! Priced at around SGD1,900, it is just perfectly justifiable for such an exclusive product you should consider getting immediately. Seriously, I am not kidding!

Maybe it is not surprising but Chloé got a hat trick at purseholic.com. Following the hot hot Aurore bags, the Saks exclusive East/West Elsie in this beautiful Cherry color is the hottest bag to own now! I have always loved that iconic Elsie turnlock but everything else about this bag screams a timeless beauty and is a worthy investment to out your every cent in. This baby is available for pre-order, exclusively at Saks for USD1,390. Good price for a great bag!

Hm… it is a tough choice to pick which one is hotter between the duffle and tote. It is a classic battle of bags but in the case of Chloé Aurore, it is even more tougher as picking one means letting go of the other and both of them are 100% HOT HOT bags to own this season. Price is the same as the duffle, at Saks for USD1,795.

The temptation of getting a slice of the mass luxury pie seems to have proven irresistible for most luxury houses today. Even the venerable Chloé has started making bags using coated fabric, adorned with its big logo and sold at lower price points. When a brand has reached a certain status like in the case of Chloé, there is no reason not to “milk” it for sure but that is exactly why no other luxury house stands where Hermes does until today.
In term of hot bags count, there is currently no other house capable of matching Chloé today. Ever since the Paddington, Chloé has dominated the market and critics when it comes to hot bags and I am glad that despite its foray into the mass luxury, Chloé new bags remain hot. The new Aurore is the duffle bag of Chloé. Simply put, it is as easily loved as the Vuitton Speedy or Gucci Boston but just look at how the details put on this bag just bring out its classiness and beauty. It certainly looks a few notches above a basic duffle bag. Pre-order it from Saks for USD1,795.

The Chloé Paddington was so “IT” that people actually overlooked the fact that the metal padlock, which happens to be the center focus of the bag makes it too heavy to carry around, not to mention that the size of the bag itself is not that big so you can’t really fit your life in there.
Here comes the Hobo Paddington and I think it is gorgeous. The metal padlock is still. big as ever but the bag is big and is beautiful and big enough to fit at least most of your life in it. It looks suitable as daily bag too but lose the padlock unless you want to get shoulder and back pains. Lastly, at USD1,595, I think it is a must-have! Also available at bluefly.com with 20% off now.

Singapore is not a bad place to live in except for the weather which is either hot and humid or raining. Can’t it just be, for once, nice? Yet before I get attacked by readers who would kill for weather like Singapore’s, I am not complaining, just pondering. Anyway, now that the summer is around, Fall 2010 bags are up for preview too. There are some new creations which is excellent remembering that designers have been pretty lazy for the past few seasons just playing variations on their existing design.

The Chloé Elsie shoulder bag was one of the hottest IT bags last year so it is only natural that the French design house will issue another version of the Elsie. The Elsie bowling bag is the perfect antithesis to the original. The shape of the bag is similar to the Hermes Bolide or Louis Vuitton Alma, a classic, made fully of tan buffalo leather, accentuated only by the beautiful signature clasp on the original Elsie. The bag costs GBP800. at net-a-porter.com making it pretty reasonable for a new classic piece.
