Jil Sander Zip Tote

Just when I thought things could not get any nicer and greener with Jil Sander, they proved me wrong in a happy way again! I have been floored by their creations over the past few months and can’t get enough but this classic design bag in the shade of green I never knew exists is just genius. At USD2,100 and lined entirely with leather, I have to declare this baby a HOT bag. Don’t you just love it?

Jil Sander Press Button Tote Bag

If the Jil Sander bag is an indication, color blocking is here to stay even for the next season. The house has again cemented its status as the master of simplicity. Despite its conventional shape and design, this bag is trendy and interesting. Price is USD1,380. It might not be the IT bag to lust after this season but it sure does have some staying power.

Jil Sander Python Leather Top Handle Bag

Sometimes only one bag is needed to restore your faith in the industry and for me after weeks of low, this Jil Sander python bag brought me back to life. I am a big fan of structure bags, especially in classic shapes like this one and the fact that it is made fully of hot red python leather simply makes it a must-have now and forever. The price is, IMO, pretty reasonable at EUR2,641.17. Pre-order at luisaviaroma.com now and expect to have it by 30 September 2011.

Jil Sander Fall/Winter 2011 Bags

While the big 3 Italian bag houses – Gucci, Prada and Fendi still rule the runway of Fall/Winter 2011, their French counterparts – Louis Vuitton, Hermes and Chanel seem to have slacked big time. Are bags suddenly not making as much margin anymore? Even the house of YSL and Chloé which for the past few seasons have outdone Vuitton and Chanel were nowhere impressive this season. Luckily things are brewing in Jil Sander. While not exactly IT material, the bags shown on the runway of Jil Sander were more exciting than anything shown in Hermes and Chanel, combined. I love some colors in Fall/Winter. I know the world is gloomy now but Fashion is supposed to provide some level of comfort, isn’t it? Anyway, one thing is certain – big clutches will be BIG again the next season.

Jil Sander Market Tote Bag in Grey and Navy

I blogged about the Jil Sander market tote bag last month and how it was the perfect hobo for me but I need them in grey or dark blue. I guess the folks at Jil Sander did hear me out and made them in the two exact shades I wanted! Available at Saks.com for USD895 (or SGD1,200), I really think it is a must-buy. What do you think? If I get it, should I get it in navy or grey? Both of them do look fantastic! Decision decision…

Jil Sander Market Leather Bag

Oh yes, baby! Now you’re talking!!! Nobody does understatement like Jil Sander. This leather bag is the perfect day bag for this Spring/Summer and probably after the season too, if it comes in more classic color (which I really hope they will because I will buy it in gray or dark blue). Currently, the bag is available in bright pink, yellow and green and all are equally perfect for the season. I think the idea of putting the detachable strap is genius, making it the perfect slouchy hobo. Without the strap, the bag is just like the Loewe Calle. The whole bag is made of leather and the inside is unlined, which I don’t really like but works in this case. Price is GBP500. Not cheap but pretty good for a gorgeous Jil Sander bag like this. Like I said, I think I found my perfect hobo but I need it in gray or dark blue. You hear me, people at Jil Sander?

Jil Sander Madame Frame Bag

Jil Sander bags rarely fail to impress although I have never remembered one bag from the house that reached the IT status or classic. Same as its other cousins before it, the Madame Frame Bag is a one classy bag without much clue to give the fact that it is a Jil Sander bag away. The frame bag also comes with detachable shoulder strap, which is always an extra point to a great looking bag. The size and the shape somehow reminds me of the YSL Muse when I first saw it. Will the Madame possibly reach that status for Jil Sander? Price is pretty good at USD1,775, at Barneys.

Jil Sander Large Tote

There is nothing incredibly unique about this bag but that is where the beauty of it or any other Jil Sander product, for that matter lies. The only thing extraordinary about this tote is its huge size at 21″x11″x6.5″. I also love the pebbled leather that is scratch-resistant yet softly slouches when carried. This camel color as the background to the minimal gold hardwares is somehow easily identified with the brand’s simple and natural look. Beauty lies in minimalism indeed. Available at Barneys for USD1,295.
