Lanvin meeting H&M has got to be THE most anticipated collaboration of the year for me. I have never been a Zara person (not more than three basic pieces of Zara in my wardrobe) but I am all for H&M! I think the brand is one of the best things ever created out of Sweden, alongside the Swedish meatballs and DAIM pie, of course.

Over the past few years, Alber Elbaz’s collaboration with his menswear helm man in Lanvin, Lucas Ossendrijver has put the label up where Hedi Slimane put Dior Homme in the menswear universe (at the top). Even with Kanye West’s and Pharell Williams’ recent widely publicized infatuation with the label, I am relieved that the house remains cool as ever (Lanvin, please please do not let Kanye co-design a sneaker for you or William place a hideous custom-made purple crocodile bag with you).
Lanvin has always been luxurious and exclusive and it is exciting to see H&M going luxury with this collection. The collection consists of a 40-piece item with price starting from GBP14.99 for a T-shirt to GBP149.9 for a suit. There are also bow ties, of course, with Elbaz’ touch all over them. You know it is in time like this, I hate Singapore for being such a slow mover in bringing in cool labels like H&M. It will surely be an overnight queue in front of H&M stores in HK and all over the world again the evening before the collection hits the store at 7am on the 23 November 2010. Brace yourself, people!
