Nancy Gonzalez Crocodile Flap Shoulder Bag

Since things have been pretty dry with the bag market lately, it is time to go south. South, exactly to the Columbia where crocodile bags from Nancy Gonzalez never failed to thrill me. Look at this flap bag! Made entirely of crocodile skin, I could not recall any other shoulder flap bag more classic or elegant than this one. Available at Neiman Marcus for USD2,495.

Nancy Gonzalez Studded Python and Croc Satchel

Even Nancy Gonzalez studded her bag and you might ask “how?”, given that the Colombian bag designer does not work with hardware on her purses. The studs in this bag are covered with exotic skin, how cool is that? The material is a combo of Python leather for the body and croc for the handles and on side of the bag.  I also like the suede lining in contrasting salmon skin color. This bag fits perfectly into my definition of a very very hot bag. The shape is classic and it comes with detachable shoulder strap too. Seems like nothing is left out and it is a damn steal at USD3,100!

Nancy Gonzalez Crocodile Cutout Satchel

I adore Nancy Gonzalez and this, in my opinion, is one of the best bags she has made over the past few years. It is a brilliant idea to cut-out the crocodile skin, making it look like a lace – it tones down the toughness and rigidness of crocodile skin as the material, making the bag more feminine and classy at the same time. Nancy Gonzalez does not use any hardware on her bags and this one is not an exception either. Available at Saks for USD3,700. A steal for such a classy style in crocodile skin, if you ask me.

Seems like everything is going back fine with her life and i am happy for her. Spears is carrying a Nancy Gonzalez Bowler in beautiful orange color at airport wearing a wide smile too. Nancy Gonzalez Croc Tote

The handbag industry has reached a new height despite the market downturn and the new height is Exotic high. Contrary to the opinion that people will reduce their spending on luxury goods, exotic handbags are still high in demand. “Women are starting to think of something that looks a little timeless and isn’t so identifiable the way the ‘it’ handbag of the minute was,” says David Wolfe, a trend forecaster at the Doneger Group in New York. “They’re looking for things that maybe have fewer details and gimmicks but [with] recognizable quality. The exotic skins certainly deliver that. Anybody who looks at those bags knows that they’re pricey.”
And who else would rejoice more upon hearing such news than Nancy Gonzalez? The Colombian-based handbag designer has been long recognised as the top exotic handbag maker to the world. Nancy Gonzalez bags are logoless, hardware-less and made of supple and quality exotic skins, mostly crocs. This croc tote in red (also available in black) is one example of simplicity at its best. I can imagine the bag being used today and still being used by the owner 30 years from now and will still be as stunning. If you could do the math, grab this baby from Neiman Marcus at USD3,650.
