Pierre Hardy Top Handle Suede Clutch

Pierre Hardy shoes might have found its place within the edgier end of fashion group but its bags have rarely attracted interests. This clutch shows some hope. It might not be a defining moment for the house but it is a baby step in the right direction. I like the price too, which is somewhat reasonable at USD1,050 given the material (full suede with leather trim) and the multifunctional design (clutch, top handle and shoulder/messenger bag). Can’t help but appreciate it to some extent.

Rochas Borsa Rosa Tote Bag

Despite the fact that the weather in Singapore is still very hot and humid, I am very well aware that the Summer is supposed to be over soon and that Fall/Winter collections must come in and make new money soon. Bright colors are supposed to have started to go away. Enter the Rochas Borsa Rosa tote which is mouthful to call but stunning in person. There is nothing really new about this bag design as it does resemble many totes from other designers like the Celine leather tote bag, especially with the color blocking. However this new (but not actually that new either) color combo (baby blue and pink) will surely floor many girls down flat to the ground. Price is USD1,065 at Saks. Who doesn’t want summer to be prolonged after all, right?

Missoni for Target

Mark the date September 13 2011 (it is 14 for us in Asia) as it is the day Target stores all over America and online will certainly be super overwhelmed until October 22 or much earlier if I predict it right. Target has worked with many designers like Isaac Mizrahi, Alexander McQueen and Jean Paul Gaultier but this soon-to-be-launched collaboration with Missoni is the most exciting yet for me. Having 400 pieces of items to be featured in this collaboration from womens’ wear, menswear to childrens’ wear, travel accessories and home decor is only the icing on the cake. The fact the items look as good as what Missoni would have in its collection itself is the deal maker. If you had always thought that Italian knitwear made you look grandmomsy. Think again! You are likely to change your mind after seeing some of the pictures from the lookbook and campaign shots featuring the gorgeous Margherita Missoni herself here. Price starts from USD2.99 per item.

Solange Azagury-Partridge: The Bleeding Heart

I have been in love with this piece of jewelry ever since I first saw it about more than a year ago but could not bring myself to even think about buying it. With the price tag of SGD12,800, it is definitely not for the faint-hearted. For some funny reason, I have come across this beautiful creation again for at least 5 times over the past two weeks alone from old magazines or popped up out of nowhere on the Internet while I was browsing. So I made a call to the store today. The price for the 18K gold version with enamel coating is still SGD12,800 but (this is where it gets nice), they now have a special edition version, made of silver with lacquer coating at only SGD2,100. Even better, is that since this special edition piece is a child of collaboration with RED, 50% of the profits will benefit AIDS and HIV elimination efforts across Africa. Now my heart is bleeding from not being able to buy this immediately. The question is where do I get a spare SGD2,100 or SGD12,800? If you do, call Fayzal at 91824312.

Closer Look on Camille Fournet Callisto 35

As promised, here are the close-up shots of my friend’s Camille Fournet Callisto 35. Enjoy and be envious like I am!

As you could see, the bag is pretty roomy. It could fit your life from work to play in the evening. It is also structured enough to stand by itself but not rigid up to the point of stiffness.

And the last pic is my favorite. Look at how the python skin patterns are perfectly joined at the bottom. Only houses with very high quality and standard will pay attention to such negligible details.

Stay tune for more Camille Fournet! My friend mentioned that there was a red version of this bag in the store when he was there last time. I would like this in green, yellow or blue.

Camille Fournet Callisto 35

A good friend of mine introduced me to this beautiful brand lately and I could not stop thinking about the Callisto bag he recently got from Paris. Originally known as the OEM manufacturer of exotic skin watch straps for watches like Gucci and Panerai, Camille Fournet has outgrown its heritage and is producing leather goods with exceptional quality and craftsmanship worth our money.

I am smitten by the Callisto 35 bag in full python skin in this natural color like the one he had bought. The lining of the bag is made entirely of goatskin and every inch of this bag is very Hermes-esque. The price on its French “La Boutique En Ligne” (online store) is EUR1,600 (before taxes). The picture here does not do justice of this bag in real person. I will try to post the real picture taken with my friend’s bag.

Check out the mouth-watering small leather goods in alligator skin too!

Jason Wu Toni Leather Satchel

Well this is not a Birkin or Kelly although it does look a little inspired by them but all in a gorgeous way. Jason Wu has made quite a number of bags but the Toni is the first piece that has such a classic appeal and jumps at me. I love the contrast between the gold hardware and the red color of the leather on this bag. Price is USD1,999. Thanks Jason for keeping it below two grands (really!).

Rochas Leather Shoulder Bag

The house of Rochas has been struggling and changing owners for a few times despite its very well loved and respected dresses but Marco Zanini seems to understand that without accessories, a fashion house will not be able to survive for long or grow as fast as one hopes to. This striking red leather shoulder bag might not be the most exciting bag to talk about but it is an improvement from nothing. Will I buy it? No. But given time, I do not see any reason not to be a little optimistic with the prospect of us loving Rochas bags in the near future. Price is USD1,580 at Saks.com.

3.1 Phillip Lim K.C. Zipper Top Handle Bag

If you are still on the wait-list of the Celine luggage bag and starting to lose interest already, the 3.1 Phillip Lim K.C. Zipper bag might be a quick fix. I did not notice this before until I saw this pic to begin with but there are some resemblances over the model. Not to mention that this bag is being sold under one grand. For Fall 2011, it will be available in a few beautiful colors such as blue and green besides the usual black and brown.

Olivia Harris Jackie Satchel

We have not seen anything exciting from Olivia Harris for a while until this satchel came into picture. Made entirely of Italian leather, the Jackie satchel, which is named after Ms Jackie O, is the embodiment of glamorous and youth in the classiest and most understated way possible. I like this bag, especially with its USD395 price tag, which is the reason why everyone should go gaga over OH.
