Jason Wu Toni Leather Satchel

Well this is not a Birkin or Kelly although it does look a little inspired by them but all in a gorgeous way. Jason Wu has made quite a number of bags but the Toni is the first piece that has such a classic appeal and jumps at me. I love the contrast between the gold hardware and the red color of the leather on this bag. Price is USD1,999. Thanks Jason for keeping it below two grands (really!).

Rochas Leather Shoulder Bag

The house of Rochas has been struggling and changing owners for a few times despite its very well loved and respected dresses but Marco Zanini seems to understand that without accessories, a fashion house will not be able to survive for long or grow as fast as one hopes to. This striking red leather shoulder bag might not be the most exciting bag to talk about but it is an improvement from nothing. Will I buy it? No. But given time, I do not see any reason not to be a little optimistic with the prospect of us loving Rochas bags in the near future. Price is USD1,580 at Saks.com.

3.1 Phillip Lim K.C. Zipper Top Handle Bag

If you are still on the wait-list of the Celine luggage bag and starting to lose interest already, the 3.1 Phillip Lim K.C. Zipper bag might be a quick fix. I did not notice this before until I saw this pic to begin with but there are some resemblances over the model. Not to mention that this bag is being sold under one grand. For Fall 2011, it will be available in a few beautiful colors such as blue and green besides the usual black and brown.

Olivia Harris Jackie Satchel

We have not seen anything exciting from Olivia Harris for a while until this satchel came into picture. Made entirely of Italian leather, the Jackie satchel, which is named after Ms Jackie O, is the embodiment of glamorous and youth in the classiest and most understated way possible. I like this bag, especially with its USD395 price tag, which is the reason why everyone should go gaga over OH.

Moschino Coated Canvas Boston Bag

Moschino is one of my favorite design houses for its quirkiness and creativity. I always find myself buying at least one item every time I visit the store, whether it is a shirt or a pair of pants but the bags never  really stole my attention. The team in Moschino seems to start acknowledging that with their relatively established brand, bags could make a good chunk of revenue too hence more efforts have been seen on their bags for this season. The Boston bag is always a good place to start as it is classic and widely loved. This Moschino Boston bag is made of coated canvas and trimmed with leather. Also available in black canvas and white leather combo and white canvas with black leather but this black canvas with red leather trims seem more “Moschino” to me. The price is currently SGD595 at reebonz.com, a good discount from the SGD730 at stores. It is available for the next two days.

Alaïa Large Perforated Leather Tote

Perforated bag is a tricky thing. When well executed, there is basically no question of how undisclosed the stuff in your bag are but if poorly executed, it will be the main thing people harp on. In the case of this perforated leather tote from Alaïa, I think it is a success. I like the shape of the bag and the precisely laser-cut body of the bag is tastefully executed. The size of the bag and its color is another thing to love. Overall, it is a great bag to own except that price is a little steep at GBP1,690.

Roberto Cavalli Animal Print Canvas Tote

OK, let’s be honest! Do you really think the whole animal print thing is still trendy and hot? Occasionally, I would think yes but most of the time, not really and that means, I don’t think I will ever spend GBP400 on a canvas tote with animal print on it. I am all in for canvas bags this Spring/Summer season and I love the shape of this bag but that print is just ain’t doing it for me anymore. Not even with its hot leopard print lining inside, the outside of the bag is just not doing it. What do you think?
