Zagliani is now best known for its botoxed exotic skin puffy bags but before Mauro Orietti-Carella injected new life to the company, the house of Zagliani had been known as a luxurious Italian handbag maker. At one point of time, the house even made bags for other houses such as Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan and Armani. With its staple bag high on the wait and wish list of many around the world today, Zagliani brand is one of the most under-exposed yet highly coveted. Indeed ever since we did the first post on Zagliani bag, we have received a few queries asking whether they make man bags. Well, i am pleased to find out that they indeed do but it is nowehere similar to what the puffy totes look like. The Zagliani Argentina bag is manly, modern and classy. I have been bitten by Zagliani bug and i am more than happy to surrender myself. And i am in love with Harvey Nichols. Why did i just visit them online recently when i have always proudly hailed them as my favorite upscale department store in Asia? Silly me! Now back to the beauty. This bag is completely and  utterly gorgeous in the simplest design execution. Zagliani’s python skin is always slightly metallic and as soft as cashmere. This small shoulder bag is nothing but elegant and classy. Now tuck the shoulder chain inside the bag and voila! It makes a gorgeous clutch too. My sisters will love this baby to the core. Best thing is it is being marked down at 50% off from GBP1,100 to only GBP550. I plead you not to miss this baby.

Zagliani Large Puffy Bag in Patent Turquoise

OMG! The classic Zagliani Puffy bag at 50% off? How could it still be available? Especially in this rare stunning  patent turquoise color, it just doesn’t get any better than this!! This baby has suede lining in contrasting fuschia color, more fun than the usual black/ brown. If this color combo is too striking for you, the one in classic-classic patent white with brown lining is also still available. I have always loved Harvey Nichols for their selection of goods and clearly this is not in any way disappointing. I just hate it that there isn’t any in Singapore at this point of time. Janet Jackson and Zagliani Puffy Croc Satchel

Janet Jackson arrived at N.Y.C.’s LaGuardia Airport in style with hubby Jermaine Dupri on her left arm but it is the Zagliani Puffy croc satchel on her right arm that is more worthy of a story. Zagliani is a 70-year old Italian leather company that makes lust-worthy bags in exotic skins such as Phyton and Crocodile. What sets Zagliani apart from the likes of Nancy Gonzalez or Carlos Falchi then? It lies on the special treatment they give to the exotic skins before it is used. The material on Zagliani bags are injected with a blend of Silicone and other ingredients by Botox-treatment method and the result is skins that are as soft as cashmere yet durable and supple. Now, who came up with that? It was Dermatologist Maura Orietti-Carella, who is also the house’s designer. The Botox-injection seems to have made the old handbag house fresh and young again. A-list celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez and Kylie Minogue are now among the fans of Zagliani.

The Puffy Satchel is the house’s signature style and Janet’s crocodile version must have created her a damage of USD14,500. The Phyton version on the right is friendlier to the pockets (USD3,385) and is stunning too. Zagliani is available at upscale department stores around the world such as Harvey Nichols and Saks.
